The magnetic field intensity of the high intensity magnetic separator selected must reach about 7.16*105A/m according to the magnetic susceptibility of the ilmenite. Strong roughing operations mainly sort the ilmenite in the tailings of magnetic separation, which must complete the task of throwing tailings, enrichment and desliming. Since 1974, the Research Institute and the Comprehensive Utilization of Mineral Resources Institute has made small-scale experiment through XOZS-72 ring, cone disc, roller, vertical ring, electromagnetic ring or magnetic separator. In the mineral processing plant, the semi-industrial test and the industrial test have been made through dual cage, cage type and SIIP strong magnetic separator. The effect of the SIIP high intensity magnetic separator is the best, which got crude titanium concentrate containing 15.23%-18.23% Ti. On the respect of the experimental study of the flotation reagent, the application of collecting efficient styrene phosphonic acid has made lots of work for replacing the oxidized paraffinum sodium salt during the titanium flotation. Under the condition that the pulp pll is 6-6.5 without inhibitor, the recovery rate of the titanium can reach 64.60% when the titanium concentrate containing TiO 48% which is 17.27% higher than the oxidized paraffnum. The high-quality titanium ore of 48.27% TiO, 72.96% recovery rate of the flotation operations and 51.09% total yield with consumption 276g/t styrene phosphonic acid can be obtained if the styrene phosphonic acid is used as collector in the high intensity flotation. For the study of activation mechanism of the styrene phosphonic acid during the flotation of ilmenite ore, some experts think that the points of the Fe and minerals on the surface of the ilmenite are unfavorable factors for flotation, which hinder the flotation of the ilmenite. The stir before the flotation for the flotation machine is the processing of the elimination of the Fe- and O-. Part of the ore is oxidized to Fe3 or the styrene phosphonate of ferric iron, but most is dissloved in the acidic medium. There are particles with planktonic activity are on the surface of ilmenite that are mainly Ti ions, which reveals that the surface of the ilmenite can perform a strong activation in the weakly acidic medium after processed by HSO.
