The windows that were widely used previously were windows 98. This is nowadays it is considered to be a particularly outdated operating system. The newly emerged operating system are windows XP professional, windows vista, windows 7, etc. many people encounter difficulty to install the new operating systems. This article is intended for those people so that they can install a new operating system without having any problem amid the process. You can get the OS in form of a CD. Following are the step through which you can install the new OS.

However, this article pertains to the procedure to install only windows XP. You should start your PC and make sure that you have no other program running. Insert the CD in to the CD drive. As soon as the computer will recognize that you have inserted a CD for installation, it will present a message, press any key to boot the CD. You can then press any key and as soon as the computer starts booting from the CD, it will display a black window.

By now, it will ask you to press the key f6 if you wish to install any other external driver or device. However if you are using an IDE hard drive, it will not ask you to press the f6 key. Do remember each case in your mind as certainly anything could go wrong just by pressing a single wrong key. If you are using SCSI or SATA hard disk then it is imperative that you press the f6 key otherwise it may not recognize your hard disk. You should have RAID drivers on your floppy disk. If you do not have, you can simply copy them from the CD. It you do not know how to do that either, then refer to the manual or internet for detailed information on it. If you want to install any other additional device then you can press S to Specify the computer on that issue.

Next you will be asked by the windows to insert the Raid floppy disk. After you complete this, press enter. Then a dialogue box will appear on your screen and enquire about your drivers that you need for the hard disk drive. It will provide you with the list. You can choose the option that is the most appropriate one for you. It will then show you a setup screen. If you are repairing the previous window click repair. Since you are downloading a new window, simply click enter. Now since we have entered the main process, we will move a bit faster.

Next you will press f8 to continue. The following step is much more important as here, the computer will actually download the operating system. It will be on you either to create partition for windows and other apps, or to keep the drive as single without partitions. Then the setup will start retrieving and copying the files. Once this is done, the computer will restart. You can then choose the region and language that you want and keep it as a standard detail. Type your name, etc. after completing this form filling procedure, move on to next step. The computer will open a windows manual for you. Read the manual and do as the computer directs and you will have your latest OS installed.
