Monica is a multi platinum selling recording music artist famous for her hit R&B songs and her smash hit duet with Brandy entitled “The Boy Is Mine” which was a global smash. She released her first album in 1995 entitled “Miss Thang”. This album spawned one of Monica’s biggest hits to date the beautiful and melodic mid tempo balled “Before You Walk Out Of My Life” which was accompanied by a classic Monica music video which received huge amount of airplay on MTV. The other singles released included the melodic “Dont Take It Personal” and “Why I Love You So Much”. Monica`s debut album "Miss Thang" eventually sold over 3 million copies.
Her next album was released in 1998 and was entitled “The Boy Is Mine”. The title track was accompanied by a stylish Monica music video which became a smash hit on MTV helping “The Boy Is Mine” top the charts for an amazing 13 weeks becoming the biggest selling record of the year. This album also spawned two more number one hit singles “Angel Of Mine” and “The First Night” . This album became Monica’s biggest selling album to date selling over three million copies in the US alone.
Monica’s next studio album was released in 2002 and was entitled “All Eyez On Me”. The first single was the title track “All Eyez On Me” and it was a delicious mid tempo R&B jam which featured a sample from Michael Jacksons PYT from his classic album Thriller. This infectious R&B song and the accompanying Monica music video helped to make this single a smash hit. Monica then released her next studio album entitled “The Makings Of Me” in October 2006 and it received mixed reviews despite spawning four singles. This album was Monica`s lowest selling album to date.
Monica`s sixth studio album entitled “Still Standing” was released in February 2010. It was produced by hot producers Dallas Austin and Missy Elliot, Stargate, Babyface and Ludacris too and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Top 100. The first single "Everything To Me" and its stylish accompanying Monica music video gave Monica her sixth number one record on the Billboard Hot R&B singles chart. To accompany the release of this album Monica also starred in her very own reality television programme.
