Willemsted, Curacao, July 6, 2011 – The ESPY Awards Ceremony is a highly anticipated event not just in the sports world, but the sports betting world as well. Sports gamblers bet on the ESPY Awards in order to make a bit of cash and because it’s a really interesting exotic wagering opportunity that only comes around once a year.

This year, Manny Pacquiao is the favorite to win the Best Fighter award at -200. The runner ups are two MMA fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Jon Jones and Georges St. Pierre, who both come in at +275. Last but not least are Bernard Hopkins at +1000 and Sergio Martinez at +1200.

Everyone loves to see Manny Pacquiao fight and many fans root for him. “Pac-Man”, has already won an ESPY Award in 2009 for Best Fighter and has also received numerous other awards. He won the BWAA Fighter of the Year award three times, the BWAA Fighter of the Decade for 2000-2009, not to mention the The Ring Fighter of the Year award three times as well.  According to Wikipedia he is: “… the first eight-division world champion; having won ten world titles, and the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.”

Georges St. Pierre is the current UFC Welterweight Champion. Although he has never won an ESPY award, he has been nominated before. He is currently on a 9 win streak has defended his title 6 times in a row. GSP has a stellar MMA record of 22 wins 2 losses and hold Black Belts in 3 styles of martial arts.

Jon Jones, at age 23, is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and is the youngest fighter ever to have held a UFC title. Although, he only started fighting in 2008, he has already accumulated a 13-1 record. His one loss is from a fight he was clearly winning, but from which he got disqualified due to an illegal elbow strike. He has a great chance of winning the ESPY Best Fighter Award because of how far he has come so quickly. Odds makers favor him because of the way he finishes fights and because of the caliber of fighters he has defeated.
