This part of the car is also one of the most important one, a single crack and the car fails the motor vehicle inspection test, this test which is conducted yearly by the government organizations is to make sure that all the vehicles comply with the safety standards as per international rules and laws permitted globally. These international standards are mandatory to follow because the lives of the passengers can be at risk if any of the mandatory law is broken or overseen. Part malfunction, especially the one involving windshield can cause fatal accidents thus destroying numerous lives. Nearly a generation ago a new technology was implemented in the windshield, lamination was the treatment adopted, whereby two curved sheets of glass are bounded together with a plastic layer. This layer keeps the glass intact in case an accident occurs where as in old cars the glass used to shatter into a thousand pieces causing injuries and even fatality to the occupants.

No doubt the same glass still shatters into many pieces but remains intact rather than flying here and there. Now a daysmany types of glassdamages can be successfully repaired. Damages such as, circular bulls eye, linear cracks, star-shaped breaks or a combination of all three, can be fixed without removing the whole part, eliminating the risk of leaking or braking is made sure or less the whole part needs to be replaced as the car will not be permitted on the road legally. Although in countries such as Pakistan and more over countries where laws and legalities are bought and sold on daily basis have no such regulations. They do exist in the books but have no practical implementation. In a recent documentary on vehicle inspection and passenger safety, it was shown how the laws made for the automotive industry are being openly violated and thrashed on both manufacturing and governmental inspection levels in our third world countries.

For few rupees which when converted into dollars become meager cents or dimes the laws are sold openly on the roads between cops and the drivers. For such people a simple crack or a fake copied windscreen has no fatal danger because apparently its just a piece of glass fitted in order to avoid the incoming air or to be presented just for a decorative purpose. Such violating drivers when meet with accidents cause massive calamities, not only destroying their own lives but also of those present inside the vehicle. Seeing gushing blood and bodies pierced with metal and glass stir the nerves of those watching, sigh of horror are heard but all this takes place for the immediate split second because as soon as the backs turn, all is lost in the midst of the continuing hustle bustle of the unlawful roads with regular violating drivers and ignorant government officials.
